Passion fruit
Passievruchten zijn afkomstig van passiebloemen, behorend tot de familie van de passieflora. Oorspronkelijk komt de vrucht uit Zuid-Amerika. Ze zijn er in verschillende kleuren (wit, geel, groen, paars) en vormen (bol, ovaal), waarvan de paarse variant het meest bekend is in Nederland. Het vruchtvlees is geel, oranje of rood van kleur en bestaat uit vele eetbare pitjes.
Wat zit er in de passievrucht?
Passievruchten zitten vol gezonde voedingsstoffen. De paarse vrucht is een goede bron van vitamine C en kalium. Daarnaast zit de vrucht ook vol goede vezels. Per 100 gram bevat de passievrucht maar liefst 10,4 gram vezels. Voor de eetbare pitjes zijn erg rijk aan vezels.
